The Pelican of Batroun

At a few kilometers at the North of Amchit, there is a beautiful, historical port town called Batroun. Modern Batroun is a small town known for its historical buildings, its Phoenician Wall along the sea, its salines, and its restaurants, its pubs and its nightlife. Its lemonades are also famous. I used to often go there in my childhood, to visit again and again the narrow streets of that picturesque town, to look for pebbles and marbles on its beaches and to drink an iced lemonade.

Now, Batroun has a new mascotte: a pelican. And the fishermen and fisherwomen of Batroun even created an instagram page for their pelican, who lives on the port, freely, and strolls in the historical town. You can watch the daily adventures of the pelican on this instagram page https://www.instagram.com/bajou3etelbatroun as well as the landscapes of Batroun.  Or you can search for this instagram page using the handle @ bajou3etelbatroun bajou3et means pelican, el means of (or van), and Batroun is the name of the town. This page already has almost 10 000 followers. Now the visitors who go to Batroun also wants to see the pelican.
